Serial killer is on the loose, and word gets out that a cop is suspected of the dirty work. Zany antics happen as they try to find out the mystery of the Maniac Cop!
This was entertaining for what it was. There could've been better MANIAC scenes in it. Something better than chokeholds and not so gruesome stabbings. But you cant have it all.
The story was pretty cheesy, and the acting even cheesier. But I was still interested in seeing where things went. It was a half decent way to kill 80 minutes. Not the best bad action movie I've seen, and it certainly wasn't an edge of your seat thriller like it could have been. I sort of think they dropped the ball on the Maniac Cop, and think this movie would be good if it got the remake treatment today with better acting, better effects, and better story.
I'll give it a 2 and a half, so if you're bored and wanna check out a silly concept, check it out. Don't go out of your way or anything though.
